Our Gear

A mediocre photographer with mediocre gear will produce poor photography…

A mediocre photographer with great gear will produce mediocre photography…

A great photographer with mediocre gear can produce great photography…

However a Great Photographer with Great Gear will produce AMAZING Photography…EVERY TIME!

It is therefore important that you know what’s in your photographer’s camera bag

Here’s What’s In Ours…

Our Camera Bodies

  • We shoot with 3 Nikon Digital SLR Cameras to ensure that we never miss a shot…
They are  (2) Two Full Frame Nikon D610’s & (1) One DX sensor sized Nikon D7100

Our Lenses

While multiple cameras are a must, it is the lenses that really make your pictures”sing”… and while some photographers may use a single lens that goes from wide angle to telephoto we simply wouldn’t dream of doing this to you.  This is because regardlesss of its zoom range a single lens can only deliver a very limited amount of photographic variety and this is not the kind of wedding photography you want.

What’s In Our Arsenal:

  • 16-35 mm F4.0 Nikkor Super Wide Angle lens – Ideal for showcasing the scenic beauty of your wedding surroundings…
  • 16mm F2.8 Nikkor Fish eye lens – This is one “helluva” fun lens that literally throws a circular twist on things.  It is my favourite lens for shooting in the helicopter…
  • 24-70 mm 2.8 Nikkor Medium Zoom.  This is our work horse lens as it captures a nice balance between the people and the scenery in the picture frame.  With its large 2.8 maximum aperture, backgrounds can be thrown into a pleasing blur that draw attention to the bride…and to the groom too!
  • 50 mm 1.4 Nikkor Prime Lens.   This lens should be in every photographers camera bag as the 50 mm angle of view is such a visual sweet spot because this is the approximate angle of human view…
  • 85 mm 1.4 Nikkor Classic Portrait Super Lens – NO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER SHOULD BE WITHOUT  THIS LENS Just ask any Pro…Imagine portraits with powdery soft backgrounds that make a bride appear to be floating on a bed of fluffy soft green.  This green is actually the foliage behind her and in expert hands this lens does something “magical” to foliage that is simply stunning…
  • 70 – 200 mm 2.8 Nikkor Telephoto Zoom – This lens allows us to get a considerable distance between ourselves and the bride and groom, resulting in pictures that do not look lop-sided, as can happen with shorter focal length lenses…

Other Goodies

We also have an assortment of flashes, umbrellas, reflectors, coloured gels, filters and much more that help us create the magic that will be your wedding photography

…And then there is the GL1 light by Lowel, one of the most respected names in photography lighting…

This light allows us to create a sunset on demand … regardless of weather conditions – What a Concept!!!

Computers & Software

  • MacBook Pro
  • Lenovo Laptop (PC)
  • Intuos Pro Wacom Tablet (This replaces a mouse which in turn allows to produce 100% accurate post production work on your wedding pictures)
